Use case

Linux server monitoring for small production teams.

Nova's current implementation is strongest when a team needs practical visibility into Linux servers without maintaining Grafana, collectors, tenant routing, and baseline dashboards itself.

Best fit
Linux VMs, VPS hosts, and small production fleets.
Current signals
Linux metrics, journal logs, selected file logs, and collector health.
Access
Tenant roles with Grafana organization mapping.
Provisioning
Staff-assisted collector creation during beta.

What Nova gives the team

NovaUI tracks collectors per tenant, shows online, warning, offline, disabled, and never-connected states, and links the tenant into the correct Grafana organization.

For small teams, the useful outcome is simple: know which Linux hosts are reporting, which ones need attention, and where to open dashboards and logs.

  • Collector health and last signal status.
  • Linux metrics enabled by default in the collector feature model.
  • Systemd journal logs and selected application file paths.
  • Role-based team access for admins, editors, and viewers.

Where it is not a fit yet

Nova V1 should not be sold as full APM, Windows monitoring, Kubernetes monitoring, synthetic monitoring, or arbitrary dashboard customization.

If the customer's first requirement is application tracing, browser monitoring, or deep Kubernetes observability, a broader platform may be a better immediate choice.
